Songs of Life Through The Ages
THE MISSION
Emerging from the misty shores of Essex and Suffolk, come The Washed Up Folk Band with a simple mission: to revive the soul-stirring tradition of folk story telling through their inspiring new wave folk.
Their sound, a mesmerising fusion of classic folk and avant-garde arrangements, captures the essence of the sea itself. As the chilling winds of change blow ever faster through our modern world, this band offers to transport you back through the stormy seas of time, to a simpler yet harder age. To witness, through vivid portraits, sailors lost to the waves, lovers found and lost, storms weathered and new horizons sought.
With their first album dedicated to songs of the sea, you can sit back, let the salt seep into your pores and the waves wash over you. A listen to their live set, however, reveals that their repertoire covers far more, with the full range of the human experience through the ages as their subject matter. From the struggles of life and the chilling touch of death through to paganism, spirituality and consciousness; their songs often transcend the traditional.
You are invited to join this seasoned band of troubadours on their epic voyage. The timeless stories are a beacon shining down through the ages and the music, reminds us that even in our darkest moments, there’s always a lighthouse on the horizon, guiding us safely home.
MEET THE CREW

TOM
Tom brings the theatre to the band. It is said he single-handedly invented folk theatre. A front man who really does convey the songs and take his audiences on a journey with him. His song writing ability, creativeness and storytelling are as legendary as the man himself.

ROB
Rob is the musical powerhouse of the band, the undisputed king of the harmony, the writer of songs and the bringer of melody. Intense and deep, he brings a fire and a passion into the music.

RICH
He who adds the sprinkles to the top of the musical cake, the player of the bouzouki, mandolin and high-strung guitar. He adds the colour to the picture and the finer touches to the sculpture. The George to Washed Up’s John and Paul. Bringing the folk lines and the uplifting counter melodies to complete the songs.
